The Museum of London Docklands is located over five floors of a splendid late Georgian warehouse, the Museum is Canary Wharf’s only Grade 1 listed venue.
Built in 1802, the warehouse was originally used to store vast quantities of rum, molasses, coffee, pimento and cotton from the West Indies. Today it offers a distinctive backdrop for entertaining; its original pine columns and floors are juxtaposed stylishly with contemporary fittings.
This unique venue offers exceptional opportunities for corporate entertaining, from daytime and evening meetings and conferences, to formal dinners, champagne receptions and parties.

Keeping it light at Le Manoir

Keeping it light at Le Manoir
Ampersand chefs took part in an inspiring salt Masterclass with Raymond Blanc OBE at his two Michelin- starred Le Manoir aux Quat’ Saisons restaurant in Oxfordshire.
The event, which was inspired by consultant nutritionist, Amanda Ursell, really lit the fuse wire and sent the chefs off buzzing about how they could reduce salt without comprising flavour. It also underlined the CH&Co group’s salt pledge under the Government’s Responsibility Deal.
The evening included three thought-provoking salt tests and demonstrations to highlight the many alternatives to seasoning food. Another highlight for the chefs was a tour of the impressive kitchen gardens at Le Manoir.
Raymond Blanc said: “It was great to talk to a group of passionate, craft-trained chefs who already have a very good perception of salt levels but are hungry to learn how they can improve.
“If every chef who took part in this event goes way and uses a little less salt tomorrow, I will have achieved my goal.”

Wedding poem!
Came
across this poem today – thought it was very appropriate for how you would feel
on your wedding day…
The band has been booked, the cake has been
made,
the photographer's chosen, all bills have been paid.
The guests are decided, the menu too;
Something borrowed? Check! Ditto old and blue.
The stationery's been ordered, along with the flowers,
favours are done after fiddling for hours.
The stag do's a blur, same goes for the Hen -
won't be drinking that much in one sitting again!
The dress has been picked, accessories bought;
there's nothing to schedule, no more to sort.
After endless to-do lists for over a year,
it's time to relax; the big day is here!
Sitting here with my girls as our hair gets done,
I can't help feeling lucky to have found 'the One' -
Just think, by lunchtime I'll be his new wife!
Roll on the wedding, and our new married life!

DOCKERS(r) AT THE IN&OUT
The In & Out hosted the after-show party last night for Dockers(r) new exclusive K-1 Khaki collection.
The definitive chino pant brand, Dockers(r) and its parent company Levi Strauss & Co. has been producing Khakis since 1906. Originally launched at the In & Out club in 1999, Dockers(r) chose this iconic club once again to present its capsule collection, hosting a 1940s style cocktail party for a select group of European retailers and press following a presentation of the collection at the St. Pancras hotel earlier that day.
The event was attended by the President of the Dockers(r) brand Ms. Ann Rohosy, the Vice President of Commercial Operations Mr. Tomas Schmidt and the European Brand Director Mr. Angelo Ng. Many guests choose to wear 1940s Hollywood inspired clothes and accessories.
One could easily have been mistaken for seeing Ann Sheridan and Veronica Lake amongst the crowd. 'Marlene Dietrich' and her band kept them entertained.

So many choices - which supplier to use?...
I had the pleasure in attending The Designer Wedding
Show in Battersea last week - it certainly proved to me that weddings are still
(and always will be) all the craze!! Limitless number of suppliers for
floristry, entertainment, photographers and the infamous chocolate fountain –
no bride will be short of choice to personalise her day. To help make your
final decision on your supplier ask for testimonials and find out if you can see
them in action! Work closely with your venue and ask them if they can recommend
anyone to you. If you have a friend or relative with a certain talent then
great! The perfect supplier :)
Holly & the Ivy

Holly & the Ivy
Winter
weddings have to be one of my favourites- mulled wine on arrival, comforting
foods and cosy log fires in the evening! At least you don’t have to hold out
hopes for the weather! It’s guaranteed to be cold so you can plan your day
accordingly. Tables centres can play a big part in theming your day –
candelabras wrapped with holly and ivy to add both warmth and romance!

East Wintergarden and Ampersand support childrens Magical Taxi Tour

East Wintergarden and Ampersand support childrens’ Magical Taxi Tour
East Wintergarden and Ampersand were proud to host the ‘Big Breakfast’ for the annual Children’s Magical Taxi Tour for terminally ill children – one of London’s most unique charity events.
Organised annually by the Worshipful Company of Hackney Carriage Drivers, this event sees a convoy of over 90 licensed London taxis – up to three miles long when running! – take more than 200 children, suffering from a range of chronic and debilitating illnesses, on a three day trip of a lifetime to Disneyland Resort Paris. Since it began in 1994, the Magical Taxi Tour has helped bring enormous joy and excitement to sick children and their families.
Paul Jackson, Managing Director of Ampersand says, ‘Nothing gives us more pleasure than this event for the Children’s Magical Taxi Tour. This is third year that we have organised the breakfast at East Wintergarden and all of us get involved with preparations to make sure the children have the best possible send-off for their trip to Disneyland.’
Early on the morning of 23rd September, the team at the famous East Wintergarden served a fantastic ‘Big Breakfast’ for all 200 children and their families, before the giant convoy of taxis departed to catch the ferry at Dover. The big send-off included the Lord Mayor of the City of London cutting the red ribbon in East Wintergarden to mark the start of this amazing trip.
CHESTER BOYD MARKED FOR SUCCESS AT GOLDSMITHS' COMPANY

CHESTER BOYD MARKED FOR SUCCESS AT GOLDSMITHS' COMPANY
Chester Boyd has won a three year contract worth nearly £2m with the Goldsmiths' Company. One of the Twelve Great Livery Companies of the City of London, Goldsmiths' Hall is one of London's hidden treasures. The Goldsmiths' Company received its first Royal Charter in 1327 and, through its Assay Office, is responsible for hallmarking articles of gold, silver, platinum and Palladium. Chester Boyd will be providing catering for all dinners and corporate occasions as well as running the restaurant for the prestigious annual Goldsmiths' Fair.
"Chester Boyd impressed us with the strength and talent of its operation," said Dick Melly, Clerk to the Goldsmiths' Company. "We have exacting standards for every thing we do at Goldsmiths' Hall and I'm delighted at the prospect of working closely with the Chester Boyd team."
"It is a real coup for Chester Boyd to be able to add Goldsmiths' Hall to its exclusive portfolio of City venues," said Alison Tyler, Managing Director of Commercial Business for CH&Co, parent company of Chester Boyd. "Our chefs use the finest ingredients, locally sourced wherever possible and we have the resources to provide our staff with skills development programmes which stand us apart from the competition."
Goldsmiths' Hall has five splendid rooms available for meetings, conferences, concerts, dinners and other functions; the largest of which is the magnificently proportioned and richly adorned Livery Hall.
Time to cosy up!
13/09/2011
Time to cosy up!
Autumn is just upon us (difficult to believe with the weather we are having
right now!), however it’s time to cosy up and make the most of the golden leaves
and berries! Incorporate into your table centres or decorate your stationery –
there is an abundance of choices during the autumn harvest months. Plenty of dark green, brown, orange and gold foliage can be used to adorn
your menus and table plan. Equally though, purples, dark pinks, burgundies and
anything in chocolate browns look quite at home during the autumn.
Remember the nights start drawing in early so plan your photographs before it
gets too dark!...
The Music
06/09/2011
The Music
Music
is key for setting the tone for your wedding day. A classical pianist playing as your guests arrive is a sure way to
create an elegant ambience, however perhaps consider a livelier act of a
capella quartet or jazz band! Ask your local choir if they would be happy to
perform one of your favourite songs!
Wedding lists!

Some would think this was an easy part to planning for your day however others seem to think otherwise. If you have everything you need and don’t want your guest’s money going to waste why not make a difference to some else’s life and consider an Oxfam Unwrapped Wedding list!
Cocktail anyone?!
24/08/2011
Champers or sparkling wine is so last season for pre-dinner drinks! The latest reception trend is cool cocktails ranging from the classic Margarita to the chilli hot Crasha!
Wow your guests with something different to kick start the celebration!
Weekend weddings for ITA venues!
24/08/2011
Weekend
weddings for ITA venues!
It
was reported recently in the news that more and more couples are choosing to
tie the knot on a weekday rather than a weekend. The main reason is cost, with
mid-week events about a third cheaper.
This may be the case for most wedding
properties however ITA venues are, believe it or not, cheaper to hire at a
weekend compared to a weekday during which time the venues are hired out to all
other events. So, if your dream is to have a Saturday wedding at a reasonable
cost then look no further! :)
NO.11 CAVENDISH SQUARE EXTENDS CATERING CONTRACT WITH AMPERSAND
01/08/2011
NO.11 CAVENDISH SQUARE EXTENDS CATERING CONTRACT WITH AMPERSAND
No.11 Cavendish Square has extended its catering contract with Ampersand following a strong pitch against three other catering companies. The new 3 year contract has a combined total turnover value of £5.4m and will see Ampersand continue to provide catering and hospitality services at the venue. Ampersand first won the No.11 account 8 years ago; the new contract term will see the partnership reach 11 years of service.
Jonathan Morris, Commercial Director of No.11 Cavendish Square said: “During the process all four caterers came back with impressive pitches, but Ampersand raised the stakes and we are delighted to continue working in partnership. We were won over by Ampersand’s diverse range of extra touches which will see No.11 rival the catering and hospitality services of the best boutique London hotels. Going forward we want No.11 to be seen as a truly landmark event venue that brings affordable luxury to clients events."
“Working with my new Director of Operations Martin Dibben, we set out to identify the ‘wow’ factors that would ensure that we retained this prestigious contract and we are thrilled to have done so,” explained Paul Jackson, Managing Director of Ampersand. “Gary Devereaux, our executive head chef, has created bespoke menus that reflect the trends found in the best restaurants right now – themed tasting dishes and small plates for example – ideas that really work for canapés and receptions with a difference. Above all our emphasis is on affordable luxury supported by well trained and enthusiastic five-star staff”
No.11 Cavendish Square dramatically combines the period features of the Georgian era with contemporary designed rooms. The venue houses over 30 event spaces spread across four floors with several large theatres, breakout rooms, board rooms, and an Orangery which leads onto a courtyard garden with a feature ‘living wall.’ The venue is available for product launches, summer and Christmas parties, gala dinners, receptions, meetings and conferences.

Kate's Dress

Kate's Dress
The royal wedding chatter is still going strong following the announcement that Kate Middleton’s dress will be displayed at Buckingham Palace’s annual summer exhibition this year. Tickets are selling fast so if you want to see the £250,000 Alexandra McQueen dress upfront, plus veil, shoes and even the wedding cake (where you can see the mark left by the ceremonial sword Kate & William used to cut it), I suggest you book now. Don’t forget to pop into the Palace for a cup of tea afterwards!
THE Dress
01/07/2011
THE Dress
Bride Abbey Clancy looked stunning in a strapless white Giles Deacon gown with a fitted corseted top and a tiered skirt, which she accessorized with long earrings. The question is how far in advance do you need to buy your dream wedding dress? Unless you plan to buy it off the rack, it may take from three to six months prior to your day to receive the gown that you order, depending upon the style and the manufacturer. In the case of very high demand designer wedding dresses it may even take more than six months. To be on the safe side (and if you have time!) plan on allowing a minimum of six months prior to your wedding for ordering your wedding dress. Our Creative Events Executive Laura Moss, who is getting married this October – I suggest you'd better get a move on!
1st Birthday

1st Birthday!
It’s The Agency celebrated its first year in business in style with a birthday party for over 300 guests at Haberdashers’ Hall last night. Birthday fun with an adult twist was the theme for the night. Guests were served with vodka sherbets with lemon sorbet twists, canapés served on childhood board games and giant liquorice allsorts in the garden and a nail-biting game of pass the parcel for the ultimate of prizes – a Mulberry handbag - kept the revellers intrigued.
Maria Ericsson from BNP Paribas was the lucky winner of the coveted bag. Prettiest party frock prize went to Emma Baker at Credit Suisse.
Topping the bill for the evening was Lady Gaga who wowed the crowd with her chart topping hits including ‘Just Dance’ and ‘Poker Face’. The audience danced away fuelled by a banquet of desserts and retro sweeties. An amazing table full of deconstructed Eton Mess delighted everybody with a sweet tooth and party bags revealed yet more sweet treats and an individual birthday cake to eat on the way home.
Since its launch last year It’s the Agency has grown its business by 12% and its portfolio includes Livery Halls such as Haberdashers’ Hall, Butchers’ Hall and Coopers’ Hall as well as well known comtemporary venues such as the RIBA, IET and London Zoo.
Fit for business!

Fit for business!
Walking the Square Mile is keeping the team at It's The Agency fit. While preparing for their first birthday celebrations the It’s the Agency team worked out that they have more than covered the distance to Rome and back or from Land's End to John O' Groats twice, just by walking to and from their prestigious portfolio of Livery Halls and venues in and around the City and West End.
"We reckon we've walked about 1400 miles or more this year for meetings and site visits," explain Natalie Mainwaring, Kate McIntosh and Claire Phelps, managers at ITA. "It's so quick and very green. We can get to nearly all of our venues by walking and we would never think of doing anything else. It makes personal service to our clients and the venues in our portfolio so much easier when you're nearby."
Now one year old, It's The Agency was first launched by parent company CH&Co to offer clients of caterers Chester Boyd and Ampersand a dedicated events solution company. Since its launch last year business has grown by 12%.
"We are thrilled at the way our new events business has been received in the Capital," said Alison Tyler, Managing Director of Commercial Business for CH&Co. "We have achieved some important milestones: the ITA data base has grown by 50%, we have grown our wedding business by 37% and this year we can already demonstrate a 15% increase in demand for Christmas parties at our venues.
Since the beginning of 2010 we have increased our portfolio to an amazing selection of 32 venues which is an endorsement of our great team, creative food ideas, service standards as well as our sales and marketing expertise.
The It's The Agency portfolio includes Livery Halls such as Habadashers' Hall, Butchers' Hall and Coopers' Hall as well as well known contemporary venues such as the RIBA, IET and London Zoo.
Shabby Chic
23/06/2011
Shabby Chic
Shabby chic is proving to be a popular décor theme amongst couples this year. Not only does it look fantastic it also helps keep costs down by choosing items from antique stores, charity shops and local markets! Why not even try your local car boot sale for table centrepieces – it’s surprising what you can find – cake stands, buckets and even watering cans to use as vases. The beauty of shabby chic is that nothing needs to match! It simply gives you more flexibility when it comes to decorating, meaning less stress and more fun! Plus – your guests can even take away some of the items as souvenirs of your day!
An ITA Engagement

An ITA Engagement!
Yet another engagement for one of the ITA girls!! Claire Phelps –
congratulations to you! ‘Husband-to-be’ Bobby set about planning an
exquisite proposal, asking her father for her hand in marriage and researching
the right bar (and table!) to propose at before doing it on her 30th
birthday. Bobby’s Italian background is a big factor in
determining the location of the wedding. Perhaps we can persuade her to
celebrate at one of our beautiful venues in London?! ;-) Wherever she
decides to tie the knot we wish her all the best for her big day!
HERE COMES THE SUN
17/06/2011
Here comes the Sun
David Cavallier, our Michelin Starred Director of Food, is determinned to bring some sunshine to summer parties, whatever the weather outside.
"Canapes should be fun and adventurous, so I have put together some great new seasonal ideas. What about baby mozarella balloons filled with bazil smoke or cucumber and lime sphere? Here I create a thin membrane around the cucumber and when you bite into it an intense flavour of cucumber and lime fills your mouth. Its the epitorne of summer."
For summer drinks, cocktails should be fruity. Raspberries and strawberries not only taste delicious but they are such a fabulous colour too! We are suggesting drinks trays that are a riot of colour and flavour.

Wedding Vibes
The Royal weddings must have stirred something in the air! Brides are beaming around the city – eager to get going on the plans for their wedding day. London has to be one of the best cities to hold a reception at the moment. I wonder where Christine Bleakly and Frank Lampard will choose to get hitched? With an engagement ring estimated to cost £120,000 I’m sure it won’t be a low-key event!

140 guests descended on Butchers' Hall on the 24th June 2010

saying that our guests enjoyed the breakfast but I am delighted to see
how popular our wild honey and clove
roasted ham loin loin was on an occasion like this," reports Andrew
Bapniah, Operations Manager for Chester Boyd London.
The two new
